25 years of stewardship in the community
About Rob Hitchcock
Board Member since 2021
Trustee Area #1 (Colfax & Foresthill)
As a member of the Placer Union High School Board, I take great honor and responsibility in representing Area 1, which includes the Colfax and Foresthill High School attendance areas. I was appointed to the Board in July 2021 following the loss of our long-time trustee Lynn MacDonald who served for 44 years. Having been with the District since 1991, I began my career in our district as a science instructor and football coach at Colfax High School. During my 28-year tenure with PUHSD, I have served as an Athletic Director, Assistant Principal and then transitioned to the District Office as the Coordinator of Educational Services and Director of Child Welfare and Attendance/Alt. Ed Principal before retiring in 2019. Following retirement, I returned as an online instructor for Placer School for Adults and served as an Interim Assistant Principal at Placer High School to close out the 2020-2021 school year.
My wife Danise has been an integral part of the PUHSD family since 2003 as an English teacher and administrator. She recently retired as Principal of Foresthill High School. She and I have three sons who graduated from Colfax High School, continued their education in the Cal State and University of California systems, hold successful careers, and have families of their own.
We are blessed to have found our home in Meadow Vista. As part of this welcoming community we have long recognized the importance the school system plays in connecting our families and providing our children with opportunity and a gateway to the World. Whether going to college or pursuing a career in the trades, as trustees, we are here to help open the doors for our students.
About Maureen “Mo” Ward

I am a life long resident of Placer County, graduated from Del Oro High School, and furthered my education at Sacramento State and UC Berkeley. I am a small business floral design shop also providing wedding and event planning. My husband, Wilson Granat, graduated from Placer High and has been a painting contractor in Auburn.
Our son owns a cabinet shop in Auburn. Our daughters, Megan and Margaux Granat also graduated from Placer and our grandchildren Tommy, Timmy, Tiffany and Trinity Granat recently graduated from Colfax High.
I served on the Ackerman (Bowman) Elementary School Board for five years before being appointed to the Placer Union High School Board of Trustees in 1998. I come from generations of teachers, but see my Board commitment as my service to our communities. I am an advocate for high quality public education for all.
I have been supportive of numerous community projects from Friends of Placer County Library projects to reestablishing the Boys and Girls Club and most recently, the renovations at the Auburn State Theater.
